T-Shape Foundation Slap This type of foundation slab is a method to support a structure in an area where the ground freezes. A footing is placed below the frost line and afterwards the walls will be added on top. To provide extra support at the base of the foundation the footing of the foundation is wider than the wall. A T-shaped foundation is placed, the walls are constructed and then the slab is poured between the wall. In Summary:

Slab-on-grade foundation A slab is a single layer of concrete. On the edges the slab is poured thicker, to form essential footing. Reinforcing rods strenghten the thickened edge. The slab normally rests on crushed gravel to improve drainage. Concrete wiring is also meshed into the concrete to reduce the chances of cracking. The "Slab-on" is suitable in areas where the ground doesn't freeze In Summary
